Funding Series: List of 15 Indian Startups Who Secured Funding (3- September to 9-September 2018)

Earlypad brings you a fresh edition of Funding Series of Indian Startups who secured funding in the week of 3-September to 9-September 2018. Altogether there are 15 startups who could make noise in the Indian startup economy in this week. Out of these 15 startups – SRJNA, Mad Street Den, Clear Dekhno, Heelium, SignCatch and HappyEasyGo has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from their investokrs.  

Haazri 

Mumbai-based Tea and snack quick service restaurant Startup Haazri serves tea, filter coffee and snacks in areas with “high corporate traffic” 

  • Funding: Haazri has secured an amount of Rs.12.5 Million in seed round of funding led by Artha India Ventures. The startup plans to open outlets in 20 new locations across Mumbai with the raised funds. 

Dream11 

Mumbai-based Dream11 a platform with 30 million+ users playing Fantasy Cricket, Football, Kabaddi and NBA, offers Indian sports fans to showcase their sports knowledge.  

  • Founded Year: Jan 1, 2012 
  • Founders: Harsh Jain 
  • Funding: Dream11 has secured an amount of $100 Million in series D round of funding from Tencent Holdings. 

Flyrobe 

Mumbai-based Flyrobe is an online apparel rental platform that provides premium designer wear for both men and women.  

  • Founded Year: 2015 
  • Founders: Pranay SuranaShreya Mishra, Tushar Saxena 
  • Funding: Flyrobe has secured an amount of Rs.264 Million in a series B round of funding led by IDG Ventures and Sequoia Capital. 

SignCatch  

Delhi based retail tech startup SignCatch is a cloud-based omnichannel that creates digital transaction environments and experiences in brick-and-mortar retail stores 

  • Founded Year: 2014 
  • Founders: Sumit DuggalSaurabh Dwivedi 
  • Funding: SignCatch has secured an undisclosed amount of funding round from ThinKuvate. With the raised funds the startup plans to fuel its expansion plans and access the Southeast Asian markets. 

CloudCherry 

India and US-based CloudCheery is an SaaS based customer experience management software provider.  

  • Founded Year: Feb 7, 2014 
  • Founders: Nagendra CL, Prem K Viswanath, Sriram Subramanian, Vijay Lakshmanan, Vinod Muthukrishnan 
  • Funding: Cloudcherry has secured an amount of $9 Million in a series A round of funding round led by Pelion Venture Partners.  

Chaayos 

Delhi based Tea cafe chain Chaayos is a contemporary interpretation of the chai adda, serving freshly made chai. 

  • Founded Year: 2012 
  • Founders: Nitin Saluja 
  • Funding: Chaayos has secured an amount of  Rs. 810 Million in series B round of funding led by firm SAIF Partners, Integrated Capital and Pactolus. The startup plans to deepen offline presence in the geographies where it is currently present in with the raised funds. 

Nykaa 

Mumbai-based Nykaa  is a online beauty beauty and personal care product retailer marketplace for men and women at best prices. 

  • Founded Year: 2012 
  • Founders: Falguni Nayar 
  • Funding:Nykaa has secured an Rs.1.1 Billion of funding led by Lighthouse India Fund III via secondary share sales. 

Mad Street Den 

Tamil Nadu and US-based Mad Street Den is computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI)-for-fashion startup. 

  • Founded Year: Aug 27, 2013 
  • Founders: Anand ChandrasekaranAshwini Asokan 
  • Funding:  Mad Street Den has secured an undisclosed amount in venture round of funding led by KDDI. The startup plans to use its funds to improve AI capabilities , to grow its sales and marketing workforce. 

ClearDekho 

Delhi-based ClearDekho is an budget eyewear brand  

  • Founded Year: 2016 
  • Founders: Saurabh DayalShivi Singh 
  • Funding: ClearDekho has secured an undisclosed amount in venture round of funding from MOX. With the raised funds the startup plans to  capture the budget Eyewear market in India and looks at a range of Industry first cross-border partnerships 

Udaan 

Bangalore-based Udaan is a B2B e-commerce trade marketplace platform, designed specifically for small and medium businesses in India to connect manufacturers, wholesalers, traders, and retailers. 

  • Founded Year: 2016 
  • Founders: Amod MalviyaSujeet kumarVaibhav Gupta 
  • Funding: Udaan has secured an amount of $225 Million in a series C round of funding led by DST Global and Lightspeed Global Growth. 

DailyHunt 

Bengaluru-based DailoyHunt is a eBooks company.  

  • Founded Year: 2009 
  • Founders: Virendra GuptaViru Gupta 
  • Funding: DailyHunt has secured an amount of $6 Million in a series E round of funding led by Falcon Edge Capital. Vernacular focused news and entertainment aggregation DailyHunt has raised over $6 million as a part of Series E funding round from New York-based hedge fund Falcon Edge. 

SlicePay 

Bengaluru-based fintech startup SlicePay, which offers instant credit to students and young professionals.  

  • Founded Year: Nov 2015 
  • Founders: Deepak MalhotraRajan Bajaj 
  • Funding:SlicePay has secured an amount of $14.9M in Series A round of funding led by FinUp Finance Technology Group. SlicePay plans to expand its current services to tier-2 cities this year with the raised funds. 

HappyEasyGo 

Gurugram-based HappyeasyGo is an online travel agency (OTA) platform.  

  • Founded Year: 2017 
  • Founders: Vivek Prabhakar 
  • Funding: HappyEasyGo has secured an undisclosed amount of fund in a Series A round of funding led by from Korea Investment Partners (KIP), Samsung Electronics, CITIC Capital Holdings, Zero2IPO Ventures, Sage Capital, Yi Ling Capital and Rongyi Hongye. 

Heelium 

Pune-based Heelium is an athletic footwear and wearable startup with primary focus on sports safety and sustainability. 

  • Founded Year: 2017 
  • Funding: Heelium has secured an undisclosed amount in seed round of funding led by CIIE Initiatives, the tech incubator of IIM Ahmedabad. It plans to fuel its sales, operations and business development efforts through its funds. 

SRJNA 

Jaipur-based SRJNA is a edtech startup which runs a hybrid education model using real and virtual teaching aids to impact 5D pedagogy.  

  • Funding: SRJNA has secured an undisclosed amount in a seed round of funding led by Gray Matters Capital, angel network Keiretsu Forum and Sucseed Venture Partners.
